The classic holiday album A Christmas Gift for You from Phil Spector has reached a new peak on the Billboard 200 albums chart, hitting #12 for the week ending January 5, 2024 based mainly on streaming.
The album, originally released in 1963, includes favorites like “Frosty The Snowman,” “Sleigh Ride” and “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus” by The Ronettes, “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town” by The Crystals, and “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” and “Marshmallow World” by Darlene Love.

Released in February 1963, Bob B. Soxx & The Blue Jeans’ “Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah” gave Phil Spector’s Philles label its second Top 10 hit, with a cover of the classic Disney song. The Blue Jeans were two members of girl group The Blossoms: Fanita James and future solo star Darlene Love.
